T’was a Friday evening, so, to the office park with a chai in hand went I,
on the way back, at the lobby, joined a man, he wore an impeccable tie!
we got inside the elevator, like strangers in a box, I a coffee mug and he a diary had,
As the doors closed, he leaned and pressed 1, I followed the act and pressed 4 on the pad.
A well-fitting waistcoat hugged his off-shade white shirt, a stiff upper lip, and a greying beard,
so focused was he on his phone, with pressing matters to attend, or so, to me it appeared.
But, I had to cut his laser focus, cause that bloody tie had caught my eye,
so, I told him thus – “dear sir, it’s well done, I like the dimple on your tie!“
“It’s well done?” he asked amazed and paused a moment or so..
and as the doors opened, he said, “it’s my wife’s contribution you know..“
